Positive Aspects Of The HTC Droid
Incredible 2
Operating System
Although the HTC Droid Incredible 2 runs on an older version of Android (Android 2.2. Froyo), it's still pretty
much up to date and you won't be missing out on too much, especially since HTC have customized the way this
smartphone works. HTC Sense is actually a good thing in this case (see below), though it does mean Android OS
updates are a little delayed.
The main benefit of choosing Android in a smartphone is that it's the most customizable of all
the operating systems out there. It also works well with Google services, and is still pretty simple to use. On top
of this, there's an excellent selection of apps available. Although the iPhone still has the biggest number of
apps, apps today are usually also made for the Android as standard (if a little later than the iPhone release).
User Interface As mentioned, HTC have chosen to use their own HTC
Sense interface on top of Android. In many cases, these manufacturer changes can be a bad thing. However, Sense
comes with a number of useful features, and helps to make Android more user friendly for less advanced users. It's
one of the best Android skins available on any smartphone.
Price This is a powerful smartphone, which means the price is a
good thing considering it's cheaper than the likes of the iPhone 4, Xperia Play and Samsung Infuse. It's middle of
the range when compared to the top smartphones on the market.
Battery Life The battery life is average for talk time, at 6.5
hours on 3G phone calls. It has a very impressive battery life when left on standby, at 361 hours.
Camera The camera on the HTC Droid Incredible comes in at 8
megapixels, which is excellent when compared to other smartphones. It has extra features, such as autofocus, face
detection, and geo-tagging, and photos look good on the device.
In terms of videos, the Incredible can record 720p resolution videos at 30 frames per second.
There's also a useful front-facing camera, coming in at 1.3 megapixels for those who want to make video calls.
Memory The HTC Droid Incredible comes with an 16GB SD memory as
standard. The addition of a micro-SD memory slot means that you can expand this up to 32GB if you need to. This is
useful, as SD memory cards are a cheaper way to expand the memory in future (should you need to) than buying a
bigger capacity smartphone in the first place.
Processor Although some smartphones now include a dual core
processor, this 1GHz processor still ensures speedy functionality of the HTC Droid Incredible 2. you can run a
number of apps at a time without it feeling sluggish, which is useful if you want to make the most of your
smartphone.
Keyboard The HTC Droid Incredible 2 doesn't use the standard
Android keyboard. Instead, it uses HTC's own version. This can sometimes be a negative, but again HTC have improved
the keyboard for faster performance and quicker response.
Negative Aspects Of The HTC Droid
Incredible 2
Battery Life The battery life was included as a benefit of the HTC
Droid Incredible 2 above, but it's also a drawback as it seems to deplete extremely quickly when using the
internet. Although this is true of all smartphones, it drains especially quickly on this model.
Look And Feel The HTC Droid isn't massive at all, but it does feel
on the clunky side when you compare it to its main smartphone rivals.
Call Quality One complaint some users have of the HTC Droid
Incredible 2 is that the voice sounds echoey or slightly muffled at times. Thankfully, however, the call quality is
generally very good, and the sound quality from the speakers is also good. Some users have complained, however,
that you have to turn the speakers up very high to hear the call clearly.
Bloatware When you purchase this phone on a Verizon contract, it'll
come loaded with applications and services which some users have complained have an impact on the battery life.
These applications are there to stay, unfortunately.
HDMI Most smartphones on the market have an HDMI output port, which
the HTC Droid Incredible 2 is lacking. This isn't a problem unless you'd like the ability to connect your phone up
to a big screen to view photos and videos.
Should You Buy The HTC Droid
Incredible 2?
The HTC Droid Incredible 2 is a superb choice if you are searching for a high quality Verizon
smartphone. The problems or issues are actually stuff that you'll easily learn to live with and accept, and are far
outweighed by the quality and advantages of this product. Get the HTC Droid Incredible Smartphone from Amazon.com.
